1. Lufthansa Airbus A380 100th Anniversary — Best Special-Edition Airline Gift
A special livery gives an aircraft model a clear collecting story, and this Lufthansa A380 commemorative edition is designed to stand apart from a standard airline model. It combines one of the world’s best-known European airlines with the scale and presence of the Airbus A380.
This is a strong Christmas gift for someone who collects Lufthansa models, follows European aviation, has flown on the A380, or wants a large passenger aircraft for an office or display shelf. Standard and LED-lighted versions allow you to choose between a traditional model and a more eye-catching evening display.
Best for: Lufthansa fans, European airline collectors, A380 enthusiasts, pilots, and frequent travelers.

2. Qantas Boeing 747-400 — Best Gift for Travel Nostalgia
For many travelers, the Boeing 747 represents the most memorable era of long-distance flying. In Qantas colors, it is especially meaningful to aviation enthusiasts connected to Australia, trans-Pacific travel, or the airline’s history.
The 1:150 scale gives the aircraft a substantial presence, while available LED and open-deck versions add display interest. It works particularly well as a Christmas gift for a parent, retired airline employee, pilot, or collector who remembers seeing the 747 at major international airports.
Best for: Boeing 747 fans, Qantas travelers, Australian aviation enthusiasts, and collectors drawn to classic wide-body aircraft.

3. Air France Concorde — Best Gift for Supersonic Aviation Fans
Concorde is one of the rare aircraft that appeals equally to aviation historians, engineers, travelers, and design enthusiasts. Its delta wing, slender fuselage, and supersonic story make it instantly recognizable even outside traditional collecting circles.
The Air France livery gives this version a direct connection to commercial supersonic service. Its 1:125 scale and wood stand make it suitable for a home office, study, or dedicated aviation shelf. LED options can make the long cabin profile stand out during winter evenings.
Best for: Concorde admirers, French aviation fans, aerospace engineers, industrial design enthusiasts, and collectors of historic passenger aircraft.

4. Emirates Airbus A380 Expo 2020 — Best Colorful Modern-Airliner Gift
Aviation collectors often value special liveries because they represent a specific event or period rather than a standard fleet appearance. The Emirates Expo 2020 A380 combines a globally recognized airline, the world’s largest passenger airliner, and a visually distinctive commemorative design.
This model is a good choice for someone who has traveled through Dubai, attended Expo 2020, collects Emirates aircraft, or prefers colorful display pieces. The 1:160 scale balances visual impact with manageable display size.
Best for: Emirates fans, Dubai travelers, A380 collectors, special-livery enthusiasts, and modern commercial aviation fans.

5. Airbus Beluga XL — Best Unusual Aircraft Gift
The Beluga XL is an ideal Christmas choice when you want something less predictable than a conventional passenger jet. Its oversized fuselage and whale-inspired appearance make it instantly recognizable, while its real role transporting large Airbus components gives it an interesting engineering story.
This model works particularly well for someone who already owns common airline aircraft or enjoys unusual transport planes. It can also become an easy conversation starter in an office because its shape is so different from a standard airliner.
Best for: Airbus enthusiasts, aerospace engineers, unusual-aircraft collectors, cargo aviation fans, and recipients who already own several traditional models.

6. Motorized Aircraft Turbofan Engine Kit — Best Hands-On Aviation Gift
Some airplane lovers would rather build than simply display. This 1,813-piece turbofan engine kit turns the Christmas gift into a holiday project, making it suitable for engineers, makers, mechanics, and adults who enjoy complex construction sets.
The open-shell design reveals turbine-inspired internal details, while the motorized function gives the completed model movement. Once assembled, it remains a display object instead of disappearing into storage after the holidays.
Best for: hands-on builders, engineers, mechanics, STEM enthusiasts, and aviation fans who enjoy understanding how aircraft systems work.

How to Choose a Christmas Gift for an Airplane Lover
Start with Their Favorite Airline or Aircraft
A model connected to a favorite airline, home country, former employer, memorable flight, or aircraft type usually feels more personal than a generic aviation gift. If you can check their existing collection discreetly, look for the airlines and scales they already prefer.
Choose Between a Finished Model and a Building Project
A finished aircraft model is ready to display on Christmas Day. A building kit provides an activity that can continue throughout the holiday break. Choose based on whether the recipient mainly enjoys collecting or making.
Measure the Display Area
Scale does not tell the whole story because different real aircraft have different dimensions. Check the model’s listed length and wingspan, then compare them with the recipient’s desk, shelf, cabinet, or display case. Leave extra space around the wings and stand.
Consider LED Lighting
LED cabin lighting can make a model feel more festive and visible during winter evenings. However, a traditional collector may prefer a non-lighted model that matches the rest of the collection. Where available, choose the version that fits the recipient’s display style.
Plan for Christmas Delivery
Order early for international delivery. Seasonal demand, customs processing, weather, and carrier delays can affect arrival dates. Review the current delivery estimate at checkout and allow extra time if the model is traveling to the United States, United Kingdom, or European Union.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best Christmas gift for an airplane lover?
The best gift is usually a model connected to the recipient’s favorite airline, aircraft, career, or travel memory. For someone who prefers hands-on projects, a detailed aircraft engine building kit can be a better choice than a finished model.
Are airplane models suitable Christmas gifts for adults?
Yes. Large, detailed aircraft models are designed as collector and display pieces for offices, studies, living rooms, and aviation collections. They are especially suitable for pilots, engineers, frequent travelers, and aviation-history enthusiasts.
What airplane model should I choose if I do not know their favorite airline?
Choose an iconic aircraft such as the Boeing 747 or Concorde, an unusual design such as the Airbus Beluga XL, or a building kit that focuses on aviation engineering rather than a specific airline.
Do aircraft models come with lights?
Many Xairmodel aircraft are available in versions with LED cabin lighting. Availability varies by product, so check the options on the individual product page before ordering.
When should I order an airplane model for Christmas?
Order as early as practical, particularly for international delivery. Allow additional time for seasonal carrier volume, customs processing, and weather-related delays.
Can I send an aircraft model directly as a gift?
Check the available packaging options on the product page and confirm the destination delivery estimate during checkout. If the recipient lives in another country, also consider possible import taxes or duties.
